Parkersburg native publishes historical novel
A Parkersburg native has become a published author after releasing a novel about life as a young woman in Iowa during World War II.
Wilma Adelmund-Conrads has had a long and interesting life, most notably for her musical performances and teaching history for many years in Waterloo. Now, at 84 years old, Adelmund-Conrads has added "published author" to her list of achievements after releasing her historical novel, "Florence."
"It's still unbelievable," said Adelmund-Conrads. "I never ever expected it to be published. I wrote it for my own self."
