Folks who like to camp, hike or explore will love the Beaver Creek Campground and The Big Marsh.
The Parkersburg Municipal Swimming Pool has six racing lanes, a slide, two diving boards, a water basketball hoop, and a baby pool.
Lessons are available during the season and two sessions are normally scheduled.
The Parkersburg Pool is home to the Barracudas Swim Team.

Parkersburg offers two outstanding golf courses.
Beaver Meadows Golf and Country Club is a 9 hole, par 34 Golf Course located along the Beaver River, just North of Parkersburg.

Legend Trail Golf Course is a new golf course and driving range that opened in 2008. This course has nine holes with three sets of tees and is great for the beginner or an advanced golfer.

Parkersburg has three city parks.
Depot Park is a historical site on the north end of town. Parkersburg's old Train Station still stands, complete with an old time caboose from a passenger train.
Miracle Park, formerly the Swimming Pool Park, is located on the west side of town near the cemetery and the Veteran's Memorial Building.
Schwartz Memorial Park is a new park on the east end of town. Located on Newell Avenue, the park has new playground equipment and a pond.
Beaver Creek Campground is located next to the Beaver Meadows Golf Course along the Beaver River.
The Big Marsh
Six miles north of Parkersburg is Iowa's largest marsh area, boasting over 3,000 acres for public hunting, fishing, bird watching and hiking. The Big Marsh is a hunter's paradise during hunting season.
